First things first. My weigh in for the PlusSizeBloggers Challenge. This week I am back down -2.0 lbs. I still don’t have my new phone/camera yet. I’ll have ti later today actually so no pic.
I know I am not going to hit the 15 pounds I originally wanted, but that’s ok. I have a renewed outlook on it, and will keep plugging away.
I was starting to get a bit down on myself about it and just say, “Eff it.” I then received a couple of emails from random readers that said that they enjoy reading about my journey and found it inspirational. Now I don’t find myself inspirational in the least. I felt very honored that these ladies thought that. I do what I do to keep my journey as honest as possible. I’m not a mega-blogger or anything.
I just do what I do to hopefully show one day how I was able to lose nearly 100 pounds the good old fashioned way (i’m half way there!), hard work and good nutrition. Sure I take supplements….vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, wholefood powders, etc… You won’t see magic diet pills, or dangerous cleanses here though.
Anyway….
I’ve been up and down so much the last couple months. It’s irritating to say the least.
It’s time to kick something into gear to try to get over this hump for once and for all!
I decided that I am going to do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I’ve done it before off and on, but I have never committed to it as an entire program.
Today I completed Day 1! I consider myself not to be the most fit person, but pretty better than average for my size and weight. This workout is TOUGH! Heck it was created by America’s toughest trainer….the woman we all love to hate…Jillian Michaels.
I did pretty good with the warm up and cool down of course. The cardio wasn’t too back. My lower body is the strongest by far. My upper body is WEAK! I had a tough time with the weights and holding my arms out. they were burning for real. My abs need quite a bit of work….I THINK I have abs under all that fluff….
So here I sit with my muscles hollering at me, typing up this post. I am not going to dwell on the lazy weekend I had.
I played tennis last week and went to kickboxing and spin classes so it wasn’t a wasted week. This week part of the reason I decided to start The Shred was because, I would be taking the kids to their tennis lessons all week and would miss all those productive classes that I normally take.
I also have my consultation with Dr. Brooke Kalinak from The Ultimate You! I won this on Facebook/Twitter and she so graciously waited until I had my appointment with my own doctor and got some blood work done for her to take a look at before went went ahead with our consultation. I can’t begin to tell you just how excited I am about this. Today is a big day! I have my phone consultation AND my new iPhone will be delivered!!!
My goals…
7 days of Shred this week ( 1 done already)
Walk at least 2 miles each evening (1 done already)
1 evening of tennis
Drink plenty of water
Make and drink a green smoothie every day
I think those are realistic goals. Don’t you?
So do you want to join in on my 20 day Shred Challenge? Give me a holler on Twitter and let me know!

I never used to like them- but they are a quick source of protein for an energizing snack Just a handful between meals keeps the mindless munching under control! Pair that with a Nuriche Live Take and Go bottle and Youve got a pretty nutritious snack!!!!
