WTF! That’s all I can say. I totally bust my ass all week, sure I had a couple cupcakes over the holiday weekend, but I didn’t eat the whole tray!
I know part of the reason is that it’s THAT time of month AGAIN!! I swear it’s every 2 1/2 – 3 weeks. I think it’s time to have that checked out at the doctor. It’s totally messing up my momentum.
I gained another whopping +1.5 pounds back! I am beyond furious. I sweated my ass off all week. Worked out 6 of 7 days. Burned tons of calories every day!
The only thing I can do at this point is start logging my food again. i am tracking my calories burned with the FitBit now. This has been my favorite so far of all the calorie counters. It’s all the good stuff of the Bodybugg, except for having to wear it against your skin. It works on motion like the Gruve, but gives me so much more…..including steps, distance walked, start and stop functions to track specific times/activities. It sends out a tweet the next day of my totals for the previous day. It does seem to send this tweet out at random times so I never know when to expect it. The only thing I did not like about the FitBit was that when I ordered it, it was on a 4month+ back order. It took FOREVER to get in, but I am so happy to be using it now. I still use my Gruve. I like to see quickly what color I am to see my progress for the day. The FitBit does have an LCD screen unlike the Bodybugg so it’s very much more affordable and seems to be just as accurate!
They have a nice little (albeit archaic setup) forum for users to interact. I can log in my food daily on the site to see the difference. I have just started doing that again. I log it quickly throughout the day in my FitBook (I won this on Facebook), and then in the evening can transfer everything over to the FitBit site. Thi FitBook is really intuitive as to the info you record….it’s laid out perfectly to track goals, your actual workouts, and your meals. Lots of places for extra notes to remember as well. I got this just in time!
Another item I won not too long ago was a book called Ultimate You. It’s a book that takes you through a 4 phase process of eating better and working out smarter. I have been reading it and preparing my food choices for the last month in hopes of getting officially started with this program. I started yesterday. The Phase1 workout doesn’t appear to be hard. I work out every day at the club, but let me tell you…It’s a lot tougher than it looks! I was exhausted by the time I finished. I am looking forward to the next 4 weeks of Phase 1. I’ll keep you posted on how it’s going. I won the hardcover version, but like it so much, I downloaded the Kindle app for my iPod and bought the Kindle version on Amazon.com for just $9.99. I was able to make notations and book mark important references in the book that I want to refer back to when I am at the health club. Love it!
While excited about using all these new tools to track my progress, it doesn’t change how pissed off I am about my weigh in. I will now be able to see exactly what I am putting in my mouth compared to what I am burning and see if further adjustments need to be made. Somethings got to give here soon….I just hope it’s not my sanity!!!!
ETA*** I almost forgot to add….For now I am stepping away from Mamavation. I absolutely love how everyone is supportive, and I have made some real close friends through this program. Unfortunately for me it has become counter productive. There are so many blogs to read and comment on, I spend way too much time sitting on my fat ass reading when I should be moving around. I feel bad when I can’t get to them all, but there is well over 60 blogs and I just can’t do it. I will graciously comment on blogs that have commented on mine, but I just can’t make the commitment to comment on so many in one weeks time. I know that some of you have done it successfully week after week, I don’t know how you do it….maybe I am just bad at time management skills or my kids are just more high maintenance than most. I will, however, keep up with chatter on twitter when I can throughout the day as I normally do.

Totally know what ya mean…I had a gain too…but it is what it is…just finished…for the first time… writing out a contract of goals to myself.
You are doing great overall and will get to your goals! I know it!
Thanks Trish! I am going to really log my food the next couple weeks and see if I have anything sneaking in there that would make a difference. The next order of biz will be to get a check up at the doctor. I’m long overdue for that anyway. :-/
Yep, I had a gain too but I know from which my gain came from – lots of birthday cake! So sorry to hear that you worked out bunches and still gained. Sometimes that happens but don’t stop working out as YOur body will still benefit from the exercise – it won’t be jiggly.
Keep Going.
I too don’t comment on every blog. I just dont’ have the time. I try to comment on 10-12 one week and then a different 10-12 the following week and so on. I know some have time to do them all but I just don’t either. So don’t feel bad. Only do what you can do! Heck this week I didn’t even have a Mamavation post. Was too busy over the holiday.
See ya on Twitter and FB
I understand your frustration and needing a break from Mamavation. Just know that we’ll still be cheering you on and looking out for your blog posts and tweets. *hugs*
