ETA: Tech support got back to me with some suggestions. They referenced Internet Explorer so I opened that up and gave it a shot, and it worked flawlessly. It seems that BodyBugg doesn’t play nice with FireFox. That’s a shame since I hate using IE. I guess I can deal with that though. It still didn’t record my morning activity properly, but I suspect that when I hooked it up, it dumped the data from the arm piece, that it just lost the data into the application, because of that communication issue.
I logged my food (so far) for today and it was quite easy. I was able to make up custom foods that involve several ingredients used. It saved it to my profile so I can grab it another time. I just started using SparkPeople as well and I can use their application to keep track of foods while I am out and about, then reference that to log my food into the BodyBugg program. My thought is that BodyBugg should develop an app for BlackBerry and for iPhones that would seamlessly add to your main profile so you can add your foods while you are out rather than having to double log them. That would be the ultimate coolness!
I am looking forward to seeing how many calories I burn tonight shoveling snow! I am looking forward to it actually. Saturday is going to be abother fun test when I have my cardio tennis class. My Timex HRM logs in about 1100-1500 calories burned each session. I wonder how accurate that is???

I just got my BodyBugg yesterday. I have to say at this point, I am not impressed. I think once it’s set up and I am able to log info into the website without the server issues that I keep getting I will change my mind.
Right now it doesn’t seem to track anything acurately at all. It didn’t track any steps taken at the health club this morning. I was on the bike so I understand that, but I did walk around a lot, and it says Zero steps. I have read that it won’t calculate cycling accurately since it doesn’t involve arm movements, but it should have done SOMETHING.
In trying to input my meals into the system, I had a constant time out issue on the server. I would type a letter, it would timeout. I hit OK, and type another letter, and it would time out.
I have had to install, uninstall, reboot several times to get my computer to read the bugg via USB cord into the program. It’s really quite frustrating. I am sure once tech support gets back to me, I will find that there is a quick fix, but I was just so excited to be using this tool!
I will update this post as I get this little thing up and running (no pun intended).
As a side note…
Today’s workout was 30 minutes on the bike at the health club (no treadmills available) and my upper body weight workout. I burned about 700 calories according to my Timex HRM (not my new BodyBugg). I biked 6 miles so I would say that is equivalent to 2 walking miles so I will log 2 miles into my 100 mile challenge. That gives me a total of 13 miles!
I drank 20 ounces of water during my workout. I have to get better about drinking water throughout the day though.
